The fish and chips at The Green Hut are a standout, often hailed as among the best in the area. Diners rave about the generous portions and crisp, fresh batter that envelops perfectly cooked chunks of cod. The option to enjoy meals outdoors while taking in the coastal views adds to the charm of dining here. The relaxed atmosphere allows for ease of conversation, making it popular for both solo patrons and larger groups. Guests appreciate the efficient and cheerful service, which enhances the overall dining experience. Many also love the variety of menu options that cater to kids, ensuring the little ones are satisfied while adults indulge in heartier fare.

Most Disliked

One common complaint is the wait time, especially during peak hours, due to the popularity of freshly cooked meals. While the food is worth the wait, some visitors may find it less appealing if they are in a hurry. Limited indoor seating can also be a downside; when the weather takes a turn, it may leave some patrons without an option for cover. Additionally, the presence of steps to access prime sea-view seating can pose a challenge for guests with mobility issues. Some feedback points to the lack of variety in desserts, which may leave those with a sweet tooth wanting more. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience remains highly positive for many.

Our first port of call in the Wirral, and such a great call! The fish and chips here is easily among the best I’ve ever had, and a refreshing change from the middling products on offer back home. Service is friendly, and because everything is cooked fresh to order while there might be a bit of wait it is >totally< worthwhile. Food comes out in generous portions, piping hot and cooked to perfection. Fish finger sandwich was outstanding – huge goujons of fish in a fresh floured batch – with lashings of peas and tartare sauce too. My one regret was forgetting to order some peas or curry sauce for my own cod supper – as I eyed up others with the foresight to order it as well jealously >laughs< Staff are lovely, and there is a huge range of seating nearby too – or just pop back to your car in the adjacent free car parking area. Highly recommended for a day trip, or simply your next fish supper. Thanks to the whole team for making our visit a real treat!

This is one of those places that shouldn't be advertised. It shouldn't be said that the location is beautiful or that the Food is amazing and definitely not mentioned that the Staff are hard working and completely Brilliant. Keep it utterly understated that the Fish And Chips were heartbreakingly awesome and whatever you do, don't mention that it's an absolute Gem of a place to go with great parking and awe inspiring views. Don't take my word for it, just don't. Great Food. Amazing Staff. Awesome location. Stay away. You'll only ruin it for those who found it first. 😁

Did a family drive to Moreton, and found the Green Hut right by the seafront😀food was lovely and not overly pricey👍fish n chips, egg and chips and burger n chips👏nice outside seating, no indoor. Lovely view of the river from the sea wall, and a friendly lifeguard station 🌊public toilets (30p) close by. Anyone with mobility problems may have a bit of trouble, as there’s steps to access the sea view. Parking too.☀️🌊🏖️
